Likes: I enjoy long swims along the coastline while heading into a reddish sunset, throwing AOL trial disks into bonfires, and smelling those little markers that are scented like different fruits. Oh, wait, this is supposed to be what we like in *anime*. Sorry, almost forgot...
I like anime to have more substance than style, with characters that are as fleshed out as possible (not in the Berserk kind of way). An anime should make me think to understand the plot, but it should do so on purpose. However, that's not to say I don't enjoy a good comedy or action series now and then.
If I'm going to enjoy an action series without a decent story, then it must have the best action sequences that I've ever seen. There's no excuse for an action anime to NOT have good action.
Comedy series have one requirement: make me laugh.
Also, if an anime has a good soundtrack, that usually gets it a few points on the ol' rating scale! Visions of Escaflowne
Other things I don't like in anime: bad music, lousy characters, and Sister Princess RePure. |
