I must admit, this series really surprised me. At first, I thought I would check it out just for a few chuckles, but it turned out to offer much more then that. Besides showing us the ups-and-downs of the doujinshi world, I found a heart-warming sub-plot building among the characters. How they had fun, even if their job was unsuccessful or stressing, the most important thing for them was to enjoy the time spent making it rather than the sales after. The obvious factor that drives Comic Party is it's characters, each one is developed quite well throughout the story, and this is accomplished without much fillers. Each character manages to show some growth over the course of the series, even the minor characters. I'm sure the most clear example is Eimi. Even if she hated Yu, by the end of the series she realized how hard Kazuki was working and was right alongside the group. The only characters I really hated were those two Otaku who showed up at every convention. But even then, I started to warm-up to them during the ending.
Speaking of characters, I want to comment on their designs. I am really in awe of the female character designs - from their hair to outfits, it all blends very well with their personalities. I wasn't really impressed by the male designs, as they seemed similar to every other guy I've seen in an anime and weren't really 'unique'. It's probably due to the fact I really love the art style, it's one in which reminds me of Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemy (both featuring female leads). All in all, the artwork and designers were exceptionally well done for a comedy series.

The music is Comic Party was one of it's low-points. The background music often reminded me of 4kids Pokemon, and it was very lacking. The Opening and Ending themes seemed too much alike, and I often skipped past them. Besides that, the only music that I partially enjoyed are the ones played on the radio during some restaurant scenes.
Now, this show isn't all about laughs. It does have it's funny moments and whacky characters, but there is a deeper side to this story - the relationship that grows between Kazuki and Mitsuki and the troubles she faces when he enters the world of doujinshi. At one point in the series, it seemed as if this was overwhelming the initial story of Kazuki's work to become a doujinshi artist. I seemed to enjoy that part the most though, and I'm sure fans of the romance genre would just adore this series. I reccomend it to all those romance-buffs and comedy-junkies - it's the perfect series for you.
Omake: Besides increasing the character development, or acting as an epilogue, this specials' main goal is to introduce fanservice into the series! Oh yes, throughout the course of these 4 episodes, our female cast sports slinky bathing suits while our two male 'brothers' are clad except for a single towel. Besides that, there is more To Heart parodies and some recycled jokes. At least we get to see more of the characters ;) (pun most definitely intended)
