The Wanderers is the TV version of The Magnificent World. Fortunately, since it has 25 episodes, it fleshes out all of the characters as they deserved to be in the original. Unfortunately, if you have seen TMW you probably wouldn't like this series at all. Ifurita has been transformed into a ditz, and Makoto's love interest is Princess Rune. However, much more information is provided for most of the characters. Queen Diva is much more than just a motivation-less leader of the bugrom, and Jinnai emerges from his comedy relief role a little bit to actually be the villain.

The Wanderers, after watching TMW, seems like a very simplified version its predecessor. It features much more "cutesy" character designs that feel dummied-down, and the animation isn't quite as good despite being made two years later. The world is far more detailed, however, giving a much better feel than Magnificent World.

The plot, like TMW, is not the most amazing thing I've ever seen. It isn't terribly deep, but it expands on a lot of things that the other series didn't manage to do. I'm not trying to say that the plot is the same, though. In fact, it's quite different, with the exception being the ending. Yes, the Eye of God is still the plot device for the ending, separating Makoto from his love interest. In this series, the Eye of God is much better explained. However, we still don't know WHY it was built in the first place.

Likes - Excellent characters; Very Funny at times; Detailed world
Dislikes - Cutesy; plot takes a while to develop; Ifurita
