The so-called "sequel" to
Full Metal Panic!,
Fumoffu is really nothing more than a collection of side-stories taking place in the same universe. All of the old characters are back as well as a few new faces that never had the chance to be introduced in the anime (but were present in the manga).
Unfortunately, this series really is nothing more than a collection of side stories. There are no resolutions to any of the relationships in the
Full Metal Panic! anime and not a whole lot really gets developed between Sagara, Kaname, and Tessa. Fortunately, the way the series ended paved the way for another possible season, even though it's just a rumor at this point.

That didn't detract from my enjoyment of the series, though. I laughed nearly every minute of it and it was really great to see all of the returning characters up to their old antics. Sagara is just as clueless as always, and Kaname is still always "disciplining" him after he does something wrong. Most of the episodes are self-contained, but the two that have Tessa in them are connected. Also, a few of the episodes are broken into two parts. There are fifteen parts in the eleven episodes that make up the series.
Some of the parts miss their mark a little, and didn't really get much more than an infrequent chuckle out of me. Some of the episodes were downright hilarious, though. I was especially amused by the crazed police officer that was always chasing Sagara. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really enjoyed the fan service episodes in this series far more than in other series. This is probably because of the fact that one of the episodes has the funniest
Gundam SEED spoof that I've ever seen.
If you've seen
Full Metal Panic! before and you want to see more of the same thing (only without the mecha combat and twice as much fan service), then
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! is definitely the series for you. Think of all of the funny parts of the series and imagine eleven full episodes of that. That's what Fumoffu! is.
Likes - Hilarious; Full Metal Panic! cast returns; Bonta-kun
