GetBackers
Genre(s):  Action, Comedy
Released:  2002
Episodes:  49 TV

If there is any thing that needs to be recovered, the GetBackers can get it back. That is the motto of Amano Ginji and Mido Ban, who team up in various missions to retrieve anything that clients ask for. But luck doesn't seem to be in favor for the GetBackers, because no matter how many jobs they have they are always broke at the end of the day. Mido Ban, with his "evil eye", and Amano Ginji, with his electric powers, help the getbackers back up their 100% retrieval policy. Although the jobs the two GetBackers receive start of easy enough, but things start to really heat up in this comedic yet serious anime when personal jobs get in the way...

I first came upon this series when a friend recommended it me, and all I can say is wow. GetBackers is a phenomenal mix of comedy and action. Its about two guys (Mido Ban, and Amano Ginji) who are best friends that work together as GetBackers. Their job is to retrieve anything that clients ask them for. These guys have a couple of tricks up their sleeve, and need all of them to back up there 100% guarantee to getback what ever the clients want retrieved.

Mido Ban has an "evil eye" that can let any one see any dream he wishes for them to see, but the catch is his eyes has to meet with the other person's eyes. The dreams can be very long to the person who is under his "spell", but in reality it only takes "just one minute". Mido also has a very strong grip, and his intelligence is quite remarkable. His partner, Amano Ginji, also has a very unique talent. He can manipulate the electricity around him, through his body, and concentrate it out to any place he chooses.

GetBackers evolves into something very interesting as the episodes expand, and new characters are introduced. The story itself is simple, and easy to go along with. Nothing unique about the sound, its pretty much similar to any other anime. What is the best quality in GetBackers? Well in short it is the characters. Every character has his/her own "talents" and unique-ness, such so that any one of them could have there own spin-off series. My personal favorite character (beside Mido Ban) is Akabane. Akabane is in the delivery business, and his "talents" are very powerful indeed. He really doesn't have any goals but to prove he is the most power fullest of all, and he also wants to see how much powerful he really is. But, that is just one of the many characters in this anime.

So I would recommend this series to any one who is not visually impaired, or has any type of anime interest at all. Yes, this series is quite good, the only reason why it didn't receive a perfect score is because some times people can confuse Mido and Ginji to be "to close". (But I'm going to confirm it here, they are not gay!)

Ahem....

IMO, the series starts off pretty slow. It would have been easy for me to forget about it after the first few episodes but I stuck with it. I recommend to everyone, anyone.
