Mizuiro is based off of a bishoujo game of the same name that was released a couple years ago. Supposedly, the story was so great it spawned two more games and shows to go along with them. The show I'm reviewing here is the non-hentai anime version. I wouldn't mind trying out the game though. :)

As you can probably guess, Mizuiro is a romance series. Unfortunately, because it is only two episodes the romance part really doesn't work the way it's intended. Romance series need to be longer than two episodes for you to care about the characters. The characters in Mizuiro are very well designed, however. They're very well developed, and nearly every scene was well done thanks to good voice acting (except for Hiyori, she was just really annoying).

The animation isn't anything special, though. It isn't too colorful and movements aren't really very fluid. The music, on the other hand, is very well done and adds to the overall feel of the show. Mizuiro is probably the first anime that I've ever actually downloaded the full soundtrack.

As I've mentioned before, the series is really too short for its plot to work. When crucial scenes that were meant to be depressing occured, I merely yawned because there just wasn't enough time for me to get attached to the characters. I suppose this could also be due to Hiyori, who has the second most annoying voice I've ever heard in anime (the first being Aria, of Sister Princess). Thankfully, her voice DID eventually grow on me.

Likes - Moving music; characters; plot
Dislikes - Too short
