Those of you who have seen Di Gi Charat in the past, rejoice! Pia Carrot is created by the same company who did DGC and you can definitely tell. Cameos of Puchiko, Dejiko and Rabi ~en~ Rose are all over the place here. Oh, and the animation is almost exactly the same.

Pia Carrot was originally a dating simulator released a few years ago. Over the years, it has had several incarnations including two hentai series and a movie, but this is the one non-hentai series. Unfortunately, its dating sim roots really show as we have a lead male character surrounded by a horde of attractive and cute women.

I'm really not sure WHY I enjoyed Pia Carrot. It's mediocre in just about every way; it is totally predictable and cliché. If you've seen Love Hina then you know exactly what's going to happen here as soon as the intro sequence finishes. If you haven't seen Love Hina... it might take you 5 more minutes to figure it out.

Our main character, Kouji, is your regular anime main character. Azusa is IDENTICAL to Naru from Love Hina, from the hair cut to eye color to whatever. The cast is also full of character that sound like they're bored stiff, with some very emotionless voice acting coming from everybody but Tsukasa.

Therein lies the problem: Tsukasa doesn't get the man in the end. I knew it was going to happen right from the beginning, but it was more painful to watch her try to get Kouji to warm up to her before he finally goes off with somebody else in the end.

Basically, if you want an anime that'll last you a couple of hours that you can enjoy without thinking, Pia Carrot is the one for you. It has lots of beautiful women, a nice romance story, and not a whole lot of fan service to ruin your experience.

Likes - Occasionally funny; *sniff* Poor Tsukasa
Dislikes - Dating sim roots REALLY show; Plain and predictable
