Slayers Great
Genre(s):  Comedy
Released:  1997
Episodes:  Movie

Two years before Lina Inverse first met with Gourry, she was traveling with her on-again-off-again sidekick Naga the Serpent. A strange mix, indeed. Lina, a flat chested yet magically endowed sorceress traveling with Naga, a well endowed yet weaker sorceress? In this adventure, Lina and Naga come across a town that is ruled by two lords competing for the sole leadership of the town. They call upon the help of a golem maker named Galia, only to find that Galia is refusing to create golems. That is, until he finds the perfect model for his golem: Lina Inverse.

No Slayers feature has capitalized on Naga's giant breasts as much as Slayers Great has, and it certainly shows them off as much as possible in this movie. No, they don't actually reveal the breats in this movie, but they're two of the main weapons of the giant golem created in Naga's likeness.

Slayers Great is one of the more surprising Slayers movies. None of them are really very funny, but Slayers Great managed to provoke quite a few laughs from me from time to time. Unfortunately, after the 40th minute or so of the golem fight between Lina and Naga, it all got pretty stale and I couldn't stand much more of it. It was really funny when it began, but it just kept dragging on until the movie ended.

The plot, animation, and music of Slayers Great are pretty much just like the other movies and OVAs created. The animation is a step above the three series, but the music and story just don't hold a candle to them. Fortunately, what it lacks in those aspects it makes up for in laughs. However, if you do decide to watch Slayers Great you should keep one thing in mind: if you stop watching half-way through, you won't be missing anything important.

Likes - Surprisingly, a very funny slayers movie
Dislikes - Last half is just one long running gag
